SFWMD Watering Restrictions — The Foundation

Backflow Preventer Requirements

Florida requires backflow prevention devices on all irrigation systems connected to potable water supplies. The requirement exists because irrigation systems, if improperly sealed, can draw contaminated groundwater back into the drinking water supply.

Required in South Florida:
